Sketchbook Flip-Through
Here are some scanned sketchbook pages which have shaped the outcomes of some of my pieces, or helped direct me on form, glaze or texture. The sketches start off by loosely referring to my Inspiration images, I pick up on certain areas of interest, colour combinations, textures, form or it could be a completely abstract construct that arises. Either way, I tend to keep things loose. Typically, I use pencil, fine liner and brush pens to add colour. I’d quite like to get into collaging within my sketchbook with found material. This year has very much been just getting to grips with drawing as a medium and ceramics as a medium. Through collaging, I could bring in some of them 3D aspects or try and link the two together more cohesively.
